An evergreen oxygenating plant which stands up out of the water or floats if submerged, Hippuris stems are stout, hollow and covered in fluffy leaves like a brush
Small white flowers appear in early summer amongst the leaves, almost invisible to the naked eye
A low growing hardy perennial which is virtually maintenance free
This is a UK native species which is beneficial to pond wildlife, providing shelter, shade and a place to perch for dragonflies
Can grow in water up to a depth of 3m and can form large colonies
