The heart-shaped leaves first emerge a purplish-bronze in early spring, going on to become all green in hue, followed by the appearance of white tips in summer, which themselves turn pink as the season progresses.
Ultimately, in autumn, the leaves turn a uniform yellow colour before eventually falling to the ground. What a colourful performance this plant puts on!
Tiny white, fragrant flowers in late spring.
A hardy, fast-growing, deciduous climbing vine suitable for any aspect.
Easy to grow and care for; this plant is pest and disease resistant and requires no pruning. Grow in a sheltered position away from cold winds. A sunny wall, trellis or fence is ideal.
Winner of the RHS Award of Garden Merit, an accolade conferred upon those plants shown to perform particularly well in British gardens.
